Version 0.3 has Launched!



Hello Everyone!


I recieved a ton of positive and constructive feedback from 0.2, and based on it I have made a whole bunch of polish and bugfixing according to it! Some of the issues have been with lags and game freeze. This issue, possibly caused by the particle system, has been a main focus of this update. Therefor, the entire enviroment particle system has been recreated from the ground up! On top of that, Ablans mastery has recieved a big makeover, enabling him to aim with his mastery instead of shooting himself in a random direction.

But lets get to the fun part; all the new stuff that has been added! And we have some pretty big ones I hope you will enjoy:






New Miniboss: Alakai, Lord of Razgarothma

- A whole new miniboss, Alakai, has been added to the game! Located within the Black Library, he is found within a grand hall, surrounded by corpses. Disturb his research and he will put you to the test.






New Area!

To give more variation and a sense of progress, the middle of the Ruins has been divided by a grand library! It will stretch over 5 levels with its own tileset and unique enemies. On top of that, it introduces new traps and mechanics! - and in the future, it will contain a gate that allows the player to go deeper into the library, entering the first alternative dungeon to Godstone. This alternative dungeon will contain its own final boss that will act as an alternative boss to the Guardian of Sactums (the huge statue in the finale of the ruins).






New Enemies!

The library contains 2 brand new enemies: The Neferin Lord, and Bonewalkers!

- The Neferin lord is a floating skull-brain-flesh thingie that curses the player, reducing your resistances. On top of that, when it dies it spreads blood on the ground that chills the player and heals enemies.

- Bonewalkers randomly turn into ranged spearthrowers or melee swordsmen when they spawn. Both types are quick and deal heavy damage but has little health.






New Endurance System!

Something i have noticed is as players got better at the game, the more endurance they were able to get. And since max endurance did not exist in the game, the player would end up becoming so tough the game turned boring. Therefor, max health has now been introduced to the game! You restore all endurance when levelling up and gain a small amount of max health. Endurance potions can now be saved in the inventory for later use as well! Hopefully this will leave for more intense combat without increasing the difficulty.

The whole update list:

- Added Alakai, the last miniboss.

- Added a new area; Black Library

- Added 2 new enemies: Bone Walkers and Neferin Lords

- You now have max health! Your max health is equal to the health you start with, this means Guy starts with 15 max health while all others start with 10. When you level up, you gain 3 more max health. This is to ensure intense gameplay were the player cannot simply tank through everything and to make levelling up - and therefor fighting enemies - more valuable. This major change has been balanced out by giving enemies less health, ensuring fights wont drag out and become boring.

- Altered the following relics that gave endurance when levelling up to giving max endurance:

* Hot Bracelet: now increases max endurance gained from levelling up by 1

* Ring of Endurance: now increases max endurance gained from levelling up by 2

* Essence of Endurance: now increases max endurance gained from levelling up by 3

* Soulshard: now increases max endurance gained from levelling up by 1

- Guy no longer grants 2 extra endurance upon levelling up

- Added a new mechanic: Monster traps that spawns monsters around the player when touched

- Added the Black Library soundtrack

- Darkened the backgrounds and all unimportant props to make the important things easier to see.

- updated chains visuals

- Removed a bunch of unnecessary game files, reducing the game's total size

- Changed Corpse Leaper's jump (jumping spider) so he can only jump low. This makes him more predictable and in that way, easier to learn how to evade.

- Fixed a bug that caused Potion of Wrath's title not to show in inventory

- Increased frost nova damage from 1 to 1.5

- Decreased ice orb, fire orb and dark orb's damage from 5.4 to 3.5.

- Decreased the health of all enemies

- Decreased Bandit's knife throw cooldown

- Increased energy regeneration

- Increased Ice Blast and Fire Bomb damage from 4 to 5.

- Meris' Mastery now has infinite range, a bigger hitbox and moves faster

- Gave Alva an elemental form when using her Mastery

- During Alva's Mastery, she is now unable to perform melee attacks, however, combo damage is now increased by 20% for the duration.

- Updated Mordra's Mastery sprite

- Updated Alva's Mastery description

- Slightly decreased the time the player can cayote jump after falling off a cliff

- Minor energy potion and potion of restoration has been removed from the game. Instead, they are combined into 1 type of energy potion that simply restores all energy.

- Removed fire orb, ice orb, frost nova and burning hands scroll from the game.

- Added particles to fire bowls, torches and candles

- Fixed the particles that emits from horizontal godrays (they spawned vertically before)

- Fixed an issue with an evasion puzzles that made it impossible for players to read what the rewards do as traps would disrupt the reading.
- Fixed a bug that caused the player to be stuck inside a platform in a certain level if collided with correctly.

- All backgrounds and less important props have been turned a bit darker, to make the most important things such as enemies, levers etc have been made more noticable.

- Temporarily removed some particles to ease work time. They will be reimplemented with the new improved particle system.

- Vault keys can now drop from bookshelves!

- Caster's physical damage missiles speed is reduced

- Fixed a rare bug that caused a crash when the final boss is defeated and the player enters the end portal.

- Recreated every particle that spawns in the enviroment as well as some spells and boss abilities to decrease memory usage.

- Fixed a bug that caused the final boss to spawn golems after he is dead

- Updated Candle's Visuals

- Updated Lantern's visuals

- Ensured that the Ruins Theme does not stop when fighting the final boss

- Added the new library soundtrack!

- Altered the Swiftness powerup from granting 10% movement speed to 5% movement speed and 2.5% attack speed.

- Added the name of the boss you are fighting alongs with their health bar.

- Fixed a bug that caused boss healthbars to be displayed behind props.

- Fixed a bug that caused some bosses to display the wrong health bar

- Designed a new boss healthbar!

- Now starts in fullscreen as default

- Removed the celebration of 450 followers from the Shrine of Kail (The tall statue besides the waterfalls)

- Updated the cursor visuals, it now moves at higher resolution and is not as clunky

- Fixed a bug that caused the cursor to be displayed behind certain instances such as text and the parallax effect in the main menu.

- Fundamentally changed the particles system for enviroments, and some bosses as they caused the game to run slowly when there were too many.

- Halved the opacity for the combo ring, making it easier on the eyes to look at.

- health potions now act as consumables you can pick up and hold in your inventory, saving them for later use.

- Added an icon for the Dark Orb spell.

* You can now aim Ablan's mastery towards the mouse instead of in a random direction!

- Ablans mastery now has a 1 kill cooldown

- Reduced Ablans Mastery range

- Updated Alva's Mastery description

- Lowered Ruins Soundtrack by 40% as players found it very loud compared to sound effects.

- Fixed a typo that stated you could pick up items by pressing F instead of E.
