Godstone: Update 0.2 Released!
Hello there!
It has been so awesome to see so many people play Godstone after its demo release. I have recieved quite a bunch of feedback, praise and constructive criticism- and im happy for all of it, because it helps improve the game into something better.
For Demo Version 0.2, you got a new spell, a new consumable, 10 new maps, altered items, improved spells, character balancing, a recreation of Alvas mastery and a whole bunch of polish!
Here are some of the new maps!
These maps will add much more variation to the early levels of the Ruins and some new twists to objects already present in the game.
Both enemies and treasure is trapped in the prisons above the player to the left. The player can open them by pushing the golden lever to the right side, and in that way trigger voluntary combat with more treasure as the reward!
Just like with the concept above, you as the player will have more control of the enemies you choose to fight, and the treasure you get.
I have added the Guardian Statue, the large statue in the bottom, to more maps as it did not spawn very often before.
The whole update list:
- Added a brand new spell! Frost shell: Activate to form a shield around you, as long as this shield is active, you gain +15 to all resistances and chill nearby enemies. However, it drains energy over time.
- Added a consumable: Potion of Wrath, that increases all damage for a period of time.
- Added 4 new maps to level 2
- Added 2 new maps to level 3
- Added 1 new map to level 4
- Added 2 new maps to level 5
- Added 1 new map to level 6
- Fundamentally changed Crown of Winters, the crown thats chills all enemies. Instead, it will cause any chilled enemy that dies to explode in icy spikes, dealing frost damage and chill to any enemy they hit. The icespikes penetrate everything.
- The spell Phase Shift now allows you to fly in any direction you want until you run out of energy. Taking any action will break the effect. You are not able to attack while a raven, and resistances are decreased by 100%, meaning you take quite a bit extra damage while in the form. This means its useful for exploration and finding secrets, but not for combat.
- Removed the small rocks from the Boulder.
- FIxed a bug that caused Neferin Breath to not collide with Corpse Leaper (the jumping spider)
- Added the F-key in the help menu that appears by pressing Tab
- Nerfed Bandit Wizard (floating wizard that shoots ice spikes), reducing his health from 17 to 14.
- Fixed Orb spells description that says they grants debuffs to enemies. That has previously been removed to nerf the orb spells during the alpha test.
- Fixed a bug that caused the iron bars to automatically open in Otai's bossroom (The skeleton with the fire attack)
- Fixed a bug that allowed Otai to damage players in shadow form (shadow step).
- Fixed a bug that caused the indicator "Secondary spell" to go over the border.
- Made indicator text brighter for it to be easier to read.
- Fixed a bug that caused Bandit Wizard to display debuffs when teleporting.
- The Mastery icon now glows bright when it is ready for use.
- Fixed a bug that caused some spells to not destroy objects such as urns.
- Added a starting cooldown to Guy's Mordra's and Alva's Masteries to give a calmer start with less options - and therefor a sense of progress. This is also a test to see if people will use masteries more.
- Alva's Mastery has been fundamentally changed: She causes the same froststorm as before, but without the comets. However, she chills all enemies on the map. While doing that, she is able to fly around freely. This makes her Mastery able to synergise better with the rest of the frost spells. This also means she can no longer freeze enemies.
- Made the golden text a little brighter to be easier to read.
- Fixed a bug that caused certain info to not disappear when you die, causing text to overlap.
- Fixed a bug that allowed minibosses to be cursed with sleep
- Shadow Step can now be cancelled by taking any action (attacking, using consumables etc.)
- Removed Urns at certain places were there would be combat.
- Replaced floating wizards with frost sorcerers at level 10, as the floating wizards would fly into the spiky wheels and die.
- Altered the Secret Room riddle text to make it more intuitive.
- You can now use melee attack on bookshelves to make them drop items.
- Added the icon on the Main Spell in the UI that was visibly missing in the tutorial.
- Replaced the 3rd consumable icon in the inventory menu with a Glowing Key icon.
- Fixed Glowing Key description.
- Fixed a bug that caused Corpse Leapers (the zombie spider) to get stuck if jumping of wooden platforms.
- Interact Keybinding has been changed to E, and the second consumable that was previously on E has been moved to R. Hopefully, this will make interaction more smooth and intuitive.
- Fixed the downloadable zip file so that sound files wont appear in it.
- Increased Neferin Breath's damage from 0.15 per missile to 0.25.
- Decreased Alvas frost damage bonus from 50% to 30%.
- Decreased Meris' neferin damage bonus from 40% to 30% and increased frost, fire and thunder damage by 10%.
- Freeze debuff has been completely removed from the game, and all items that gave or were affected by freeze has been temporarily removed and will be altered to synergize with chill instead in a future update.
- Removed an urn in a specific secret as it made the secret easy to spot.
- Fixed a bug that caused urns to be placed behind fire bowls
- Widened the starting platform and set the players start location more to the left in a certain map were people would often fall down and take damage right when they start because it was so close to the edge.
